Billing & Refund Policy
Last updated: October 2, 2026
1. Summary
This page explains how paid subscriptions to TheXinA work: how you are billed, how free trials and cancellations work, and when we do and do not give refunds. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
In short: subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, you can cancel at any time, you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for, and payments are non-refundable except in the cases listed in section 6 and where the law where you live gives you a right to cancel or to a refund (section 10). Consumers in the EU/EEA, the UK and Vietnam have specific rights, described in section 10.
2. Plans and Billing
TheXinA has a free plan (Spark) and paid plans (Ignite and Ultimate). Paid plans are billed as recurring PayPal subscriptions, either monthly or yearly, in US dollars. The price and billing period are shown on the pricing page before you subscribe, and PayPal shows them again when you approve the subscription.
- Payments are processed by PayPal. We never receive or store your full card or bank details.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and PayPal charges you for the next period, until you cancel.
- You authorize us, through PayPal, to charge the plan price on each renewal date.
3. Free Trial
Paid plans may include a free trial, currently 7 days. You are not charged during the trial. When the trial ends, your subscription converts to a paid subscription and PayPal charges the first payment automatically, unless you cancel before the trial ends.
We may limit free trials to one per customer to prevent abuse. Trial offers can change or end at any time, but a change never affects a trial you have already started.
4. Cancelling Your Subscription
You can cancel at any time, from either of these places:
- In TheXinA: open Subscription plans and choose Cancel Subscription.
- In PayPal: go to Settings → Payments → Manage automatic payments and cancel the TheXinA subscription.
Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep access to your paid plan until the end of the billing period you have already paid for (or the end of your trial), and then your account moves to the free Spark plan. Your account stays open. If you plan to delete your account, cancel your subscription first, because deleting the account does not cancel the PayPal subscription for you.
To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel before the renewal date. Cancelling after a renewal charge has been taken does not entitle you to a refund of that charge.
5. Changing Plans
- Upgrading: when you subscribe to a higher-priced plan, your previous lower-priced subscription is cancelled automatically and the new plan is billed on its own schedule. We do not prorate or credit the unused time of the previous plan.
- Downgrading or switching billing period: cancel your current subscription and subscribe to the new plan once the current period ends. Your current plan stays active until then.
6. Refunds
Subject to your legal rights in section 10, payments are non-refundable. This includes renewals, partial billing periods, unused time after you cancel, and charges for a plan you did not use or forgot to cancel.
We make exceptions in these cases, which we review individually:
- You were charged twice for the same period, or charged an amount different from the price you approved.
- A problem on our side prevented you from using the paid features for a significant part of the period you paid for.
- A refund is required by the law that applies to you.
To ask for a refund under one of these cases, email contact@thexina.com within 14 days of the charge. Use the email address of your TheXinA account and tell us the date and amount of the charge. Approved refunds are returned to your original PayPal payment method, and PayPal may take several days to show them.
7. Failed Payments
If a renewal payment fails, PayPal may retry it according to its own rules. If the payment cannot be collected, your subscription can be suspended or expire, and your account moves to the free Spark plan until you subscribe again. We do not charge extra fees for failed payments.
8. Price Changes
We may change plan prices. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email or in the app, and a new price applies only from your next renewal after that notice. If you do not agree to the new price, cancel before that renewal.
9. Billing Questions and Disputes
If something about a charge looks wrong, please contact us first. We can usually fix a problem faster than a payment dispute can. This does not limit your rights to use PayPal's own dispute and buyer protection processes.
10. Your Legal Rights
If you use TheXinA as a consumer (for personal use, not for your business), the law where you live may give you rights that this policy cannot take away. Where it does, those rights apply instead of anything on this page that says otherwise. To use any of them, email contact@thexina.com from your account email address.
European Union / EEA and United Kingdom
- 14-day right to cancel. You can cancel a paid subscription within 14 days, without giving a reason. The 14 days start on the day you subscribe or, if you began with a free trial, on the day of your first payment.
- How to cancel. Send us a clear statement that you want to cancel, such as an email. You do not need to use a special form.
- Refund. We refund what you paid within 14 days of receiving your notice, to your original PayPal payment method. If you expressly asked us to start your subscription straight away and you have already used the paid features, we may deduct an amount in proportion to the time you used them.
- UK renewal cooling-off. When the UK's new subscription rules (Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024) come into force, UK consumers also get a further 14 days to cancel after a free trial turns into a paid subscription, and after a yearly subscription renews. We will apply this right from the day it starts. The refund may be proportionate to the time you used the service.
Vietnam
- Ending a continuous service. Under the Law on Protection of Consumers' Rights 2023, a service that lasts at least three months or has no fixed end date, which includes our subscriptions, can be ended by you at any time. You pay only for the service you have used. If you have paid for time you did not use, we refund the unused part within 30 days of your request.
- Inaccurate information. If the information we gave you about a paid plan when you subscribed was inaccurate or incomplete, you can end the contract within 30 days at no cost to you.
Other countries
Nothing on this page limits any right you have under the consumer protection law of the place where you live that cannot be waived by agreement.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this page from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. A change applies to charges made after the update and does not affect a payment you have already made.
