1. Why we built this
Most dreams do not stall because the plan was bad. They stall in the middle, on an ordinary week, when you are tired and the list looks like a judgement. We wrote about that in why you need a companion on your dream journey.
So this update gives your Dreamate more ways to be beside you, not just to organise you. A moment to say how you are. A short look back each week. A place that keeps the story of what you have done. And a letter at the end of the month, so someone has noticed.
A quick reminder of what your Dreamate is: a companion, not a coach, therapist or expert. It does not promise outcomes, and you always choose.
2. How are you arriving today?
On your home page, a small card asks how you are arriving. One tap, from Rough to Great, or Not now if you would rather skip it. That is all it takes, and tapping again the same day simply replaces your answer.
What your Dreamate does with it is the point. On a low day it keeps its replies short and soft and does not suggest tasks. The next morning message becomes a check-in rather than a to-do list. On a good day it is glad with you and keeps the momentum going.
Depending on the time of day, the same card also offers one of three small rituals, each a line or two:
- A gentle intention. What would you like to carry into today?
- Three good things. Anything from today, big or small, one per line.
- One thing to put down. What would you like to leave behind tonight?
There is no score and no streak for any of this. When you finish a small action for a mission, your Dreamate may also remind you of the reason you gave for it, in your own words.
3. The three-minute weekly check-in
Once a week, on the day and time you choose in Settings, your Dreamate nudges you to look back and ahead. Weeks start on Monday where you live. It takes about three minutes and has four short steps.
- How was your week? See what you finished and how many days you were active, and say how the week felt.
- What helped, and what got in the way? Two short notes, in your own words.
- Clear out the old. For anything past its date, finish it, move it to next week, make it smaller, or drop it. "Make it smaller" asks your Dreamate for a few steps that take 15 minutes or less, in the spirit of the 15-minute rule.
- Pick up to three priorities for next week. They get a date inside the week.
Your Dreamate then answers in a few sentences. If you fell off for a while, this is a kind way back in, which pairs well with restarting a dream after you have fallen off.
4. Your Journey page
Open Journey from the menu and the first thing you see is "Day N together". Under it is the story of what the two of you have done, newest first.
| Part | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Moments | The day you started, your first mission, missions and goals you completed, wins you told your Dreamate about, the reasons you said it matters, your first weekly check-in |
| How you have been arriving | One face a day for the last two weeks, with a quiet dot for days you did not say |
| What you wrote | Your recent ritual notes, which you can read and delete |
| Letters from Dreamate | Every monthly letter, ready to read again |
Nothing new is recorded just to fill the page. It is built from what you already have: your missions, goals, notes and check-ins. If you are brand new, it simply says your story is just beginning.
5. A letter at the end of each month
The first time you open Journey in a new month, your Dreamate checks whether last month held something: steps you finished, a goal you reached, days you said how you were arriving, a check-in. If it did, it writes you a short letter, about 140 to 220 words, in your language.
It is the kind of letter a good friend writes. It shows it was paying attention, mentions the hard days gently without turning them into a lesson, and uses a few of your own words. It does not give advice, plans for next month or talk about scores. It is signed "Dreamate", or with the name you gave your Dreamate in front, such as "Mị Ly Dreamate".
You can answer with one tap at the bottom (the X at the top counts as Close): Close, Yeah or Thanks. We count which one people choose, never the letter itself, so we can tell whether the letters feel right and make them better. The letter stays in your Journey, so you can come back to it whenever you want.
A few details: there is at most one letter a month, a month with nothing in it gets no letter, and a letter is only written when you open it, so nobody is sent one they did not ask for. Letters and check-in replies do not count toward your AI messages.
6. Make it yours: tone, listening and gentle weeks
Under Settings, How Dreamate keeps you company you decide how this feels.
- What to call you. A nickname, or leave it empty to use your name.
- Tone. Gentle, playful, direct or brief.
- Listen first. When you open up, your Dreamate listens before it suggests anything. Plans and tasks come only when you ask for them.
- Your daily hello. A different kind of message each day (a question, something remembered, a win, or your plan), or always today's actions.
- A gentle stretch. For a hard week, start 3 or 7 days where your Dreamate stops talking about tasks, streaks and progress and just keeps you company. Its daily emails stand down too, and you can end it early.
Your Dreamate can also remember small things you tell it, such as a person, an upcoming event or a win. When it does, you see a "remembered" card in the chat with an undo, so nothing happens behind your back.
7. What stays private
These features ask for personal things, so here is how we handle them.
- Only you can see your mood, rituals, check-in notes and letters. You can read and delete your ritual notes in Journey.
- Memory has an off switch. Your Dreamate reads your notes, moods and ritual text only while memory is on. Its notes about you are visible and deletable in Settings.
- No secrets. Your Dreamate refuses to save anything that looks like a password or a number.
- Included in your export. Your letters, moods and rituals are part of the data you can export.

8. When it fits, and when it does not
A good fit if you
Lose steam in the middle of a long dream, like a small daily ritual, want a kind weekly reset, or enjoy seeing how far you have come.
Not the best fit if you
Just want a plain task list. Everything here is optional: skip the mood card, ignore the check-in, and your plan works exactly as before.
These features are part of the app on every plan. See what each plan includes for current details, because plans can change. TheXinA works on the web today and installs to your home screen on iOS and Android. Native apps are coming soon.
One more honest note. Your Dreamate is an AI companion for everyday ups and downs. If you are struggling with more than a hard week, please reach out to someone you trust or a professional. It is not a substitute for that.
